Merry Christmas friends and family!
This year has been both very sweet but also sad. Our kids have grown up so much since last Christmas. Our older son is completing puzzles, much to my delight. Our younger son has started walking and talking. Their personalities are growing more bold and it is a joy to witness. We love our little family, and we pray that God allows our family to grow in the next year. My husband and I have grown closer and are more in love than ever before. He is truly my most beloved friend and greatest earthly love.
My husband's pastoral job changed ministries this time last year, and this year has been such a sweet (and growing) experience in this new area of the church at which we serve. We have a team of men and women sponsors who serve alongside us, and they are add so much joy to our ministry. We praise God for His kindness in allowing us to serve at our church and with these wonderful folks!
I was involved in some additional fun ministries at my church this year. I was able to serve in our Passion Play through various capacities and also direct the entertainment for our women’s ministries big event, the Taste of Christmas. In both of these ministries it is a joy to serve God with the ways He has gifted me, and I am so thankful for the chance to participate. However, I think my favorite way to serve the local church is in discipleship over college students!
We have also experienced new sadness that has changed our family forever. My brother and his sweet wife lost their youngest child right after Thanksgiving. Chris and Bethany had only about one month left until the arrival of their sweet little girl, Rosie. They are crying out to the Lord but as you can imagine, are in deep grief. Christmas is very painful for them right now, and so I ask if you are a Christian, please lift them up to the Lord right now for comfort, healing, and hope. Their theme right now is Psalm 61:2, "When my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the Rock that is higher than I." Rosie will forever be part of our hearts and our family.
My husband and I continue to walk with the Lord and strive for a deeper loyalty of love and faithfulness to the King of kings. Every year I grow more and more amazed that Christ came down from Heaven as a baby. The enduring love Jesus has for the Father drove Him to the most self-sacrificial expression of love, and we hope that we can model that kind of obedience in our own lives, from the inside out.
This Christmas if you would like to read the Christmas story in the Bible, try reading Matthew 1,2; Luke 1,2; and John 1. Click here to read online; I recommend the ESV, but if you're new to reading the Bible and find it hard to understand you could try out the NLT version. This is what I will be reading today, you can join me!
Outfit details: Everything I'm wearing is TTS except for the blazer. The blazer was a little wide on me so I ordered the next size down. I like the heavy weight of this jacket, and the front is so elegant! I paired this up with sneaker wedges for a more sporty look, but you could switch them out for pumps and give it an executive office vibe.
