Failed Adoption

Life update: failed adoption. Baby boy was born yesterday. The expectant mom we were matched with 4.5 months ago decided to parent. My husband preached a (fantastic) sermon on how to respond to trials on Sunday, and the next day we received the opportunity to live it out to the glory of God. My close friend asked me on Monday what I was feeling. “Sadness?” I told her. “I don’t know if that’s the right word. When I’m Disappointed

Many of us have expectations for our lives. There’s really not a way to avoid it completely. We make goals and plans with the expectation that it might be possible to achieve them. I’m planning this with the hopes that my situation will turn out like that. Expectations can be tightly grasped with eyes fixed on the expectation itself, or they can loosely held with eyes focused on the Father.
